Sowards OFS offers turnkey management for all facets of temporary and permanent water pipeline construction projects for natural gas production and completions operations, including permitting and engineering, design, site visit analysis, ROW acquisition, water sourcing, materials and equipment procurement, installation, quality assurance inspection, hydrostatic testing, and operations. With certified HDPE poly pipe fusion technicians on staff who have the ability to fuse pipe of varying sizes and pressure ratings, Sowards OFS can engineer solutions to challenging transfer operations such as extreme terrain, long-range pumping distances, high total dynamic head conditions, high pressure zones, and high velocity pumping. Sowards OFS is experienced in installing above ground and below ground water transfer lines, including the installation of all necessary E&S controls and complete pipeline restoration. Unlike other water transfer companies, Sowards OFS is managed by an experienced team of field operation specialists who understand the regulatory environment within which they operate and can execute all transfer projects in compliance and in an environmentally safe way.
Sowards OFS provides piping, high volume pumps, manifolds, and pump watch to unify the process of supplying water for hydraulic fracturing. Sowards OFS’s experienced team will design, install, and operate a water management system for any variety of hydraulic fracturing set-ups, including tanks, above-ground storage, and earthen impoundments.
Sowards OFS’s technically trained operations team will provide an uninterrupted flow of water for fracturing operations and refilling of working tanks at the rates desired by natural gas companies, including all requisite redundancy to ensure the success of each project.
Extensive design, planning and preparation is critical to the success of a hydraulic fracturing operation and Sowards OFS prides itself on taking all necessary steps to make sure that each fracturing operation is completed in a timely and budget conscious manner.
Water Transfer Set-Up
Sowards OFS will supply, install, operate and remove all necessary manifold systems, piping, valves, fittings, pumps, containment, controls, filtration unit, fuel and fuel tanks, winterization equipment, pigging system, and related equipment as required to support the working tanks and hydraulic fracturing operation at a client-designated water transfer rate, according to client preferences and overall site conditions and layout.
Water Transfer Services
In conjunction with Water Transfer Services, Sowards OFS can provide replenishment transfer support from an off-pad source to meet daily water transfer requirements. Replenishment and transfer flows may vary, depending upon project requirements, elevation changes, pipe sizes, transfer distance, and pump selection.
Design & Set-Up
Prior to the commencement of mobilization, Sowards OFS will develop a Piping & Instrumentation Drawing (P&ID) for each water transfer set-up, which illustrates the complete pump, piping, and valve set-up at each location. Sowards OFS has developed this customized design service for its customers in order to maintain Sowards OFS’s Quality Assurance Program and Safe-Operating requirements.
Mobilization
A typical mobilization effort will include the installation of between 500 and 1,000 lineal feet of HDPE piping or lay-flat hose, laid from a water storage location to the well pad overland across an approved and accessible route. Sowards OFS’s effort will include all labor necessary to operate and maintain the pumping and piping systems being operated by Sowards OFS in support of the hydraulic fracturing of the well.
Operation
During Water Transfer Operations, Sowards OFS’s experienced operations managers, supervisors, and water-support technicians will be on-site and maintain customer communication to operate and manage the delivery of critical water management services in support of the water transfer operation. This effort will include pump watch activities and redundant pumps sufficient to complete the job and meet prescribed requirements. Sowards OFS is dedicated to high level reporting and provides detailed reports to clients daily.
Winterization
As appropriate in winter season, Sowards OFS will also provide any requisite winterization of the pumps, piping and working tank manifolds in advance of and during the hydraulic fracturing process. Sowards OFS is experienced in maintaining consistent water flow in sub-freezing conditions and has extensive experience with pigging pipeline systems. Sowards OFS has well-established SOPs for winter conditions and will work with its clients to determine best-practices for water transfer winterization.
